By following Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauty” theory of poetry translation and Yu Yungen’s five principles of comparing versions, this paper studies six Chinese versions of Yeats’s poem “When You are Old” at the three levels of translating meaning, music, and visual effect.
本文遵循许渊冲的诗歌翻译的“三美”理论和喻云根的译文比较评析的五点原则,从意义系统、音乐系统和视觉系统三个层面上比读和分析叶芝的名诗“WhenYouareOld”的六篇译文,然后得出结论:六种译本虽有轩轾,但均未臻完美。
