The product distribution and the effect on the yields from co-coking of coal with waste tire were investigated by using a 2 kg pyrolysis device for simulating the industrial coking procedure.

The results indicate that by co-coking of coal and waste tire,the H_2 and CH_4 contents in the coke gas increased and thermal value of the gas was increased by at lest 23%;the yield of tar and its quality were also improved;the size of waste tire granule added had obvious impact on the quality of coke produced.
