A new convenient synthesis of 3-aminomethyl-4-trifluoromethylpyridine using 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate and cyanoacetamide as precursors,via cyclization,chlorination,hydrogenolysis and hydrogenation under mild conditions,was achieved.
